Special Care

At Deadwood Dental the health, safety and comfort of our patients is always our first concern. With that comes the recognition that every patient is different and unique in their own right with different life experiences and different care needs. For that reason, our commitment to one is our commitment to all - to provide the highest quality dental care available in accord with each patient's specific needs.

At Deadwood Dental the health, safety and comfort of our patients is always our first concern. With that comes the recognition that not only is every patient different, but that within needs that we as a dental care provider are committed to , but that in their diversity lies our there are a variety of situations that deviate from the routine -- to which we are committed to provide the special attention and care they deserve.
We are sensitive to and make every effort to be aware of unique circumstances that for any number of reasons may require special accommodation. We are equipped for and have the clinical expertise to provide for the special needs of most patients. The key, always, is obtaining information that will help us provide a comfortable, caring environment, while providing the best that dentistry has to offer.
* When arranging an appointment for a patient with special needs, it is helps us to be make aware of any sensitivities the patient may have. These include both drug and material allergies, as well as any fears or phobias that may be relevant to their care.  Health conditions that may require advanced preparation, including the need for a prophylactic sedative or antibiotic, as well as the presence of any active infectious disease are all examples of the kind of information that will help us provide a safe, comfortable, caring environment for the patient.
Providing competent care to special needs patients requires an understanding of their unique treatment needs, as well as factors such as ambulation, independent living, socialization, and sensory function. It requires a commitment to overcome issues that may interfere with dental care, including severe dental complexity, multiple medical conditions, loss of independence, reduced functional status, a lack of knowledge about the need for dental care, and limited financial resources.

The mission of Deadwood Dental is the health, safety and comfort of our patients - from the youngest toddler, to those that have become limited by age; from those that fully understand the care we provide to those that experience life on entirely different plateaus -- we are dedicated to providing the highest quality dental care to the entire Northern Black Hills Community.

* All information provided is held in strict confidence - access to individual  health information and history, even among our staff, is only made available on and then limited strictly to an absolute "need to know" basis.
