Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Lennard R. Hopper

Dr. Hopper has been practicing dentistry in Deadwood since 2006. He is a native of the Northern the Black Hills area, where he also attended college at BHSU in Spearfish. He received his dental training at UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln Nebraska. Dr. Hopper takes great pride in getting to know our patients (not just their teeth!!), and he and our team ensure that each patient has a comfortable experience in our office.

Dr. Hopper has three adult children, and he and his wife, Taaron, live on the edge of Centennial Valley between Deadwood and Spearfish with their two dogs. He is an avid outdoorsman, and he and Taaron enjoy tennis, golf, and hiking/biking in the hills. Dr. Hopper also enjoys community involvement and has donated resources and countless hours to youth sports and many other civic organizations.

Dr. Curry

Dr. Angela Curry is a native of Elk Point, South Dakota. She attended South Dakota State University and then pursued her passion for the art and science of dentistry. Dr. Curry graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2008. It was here where she met Dr. Hopper through the Nebraska Student Dental Association.

Dr. Curry practiced one year in Sioux Falls, SD before a career opportunity brought her West River to the beautiful Black Hills. She enjoyed serving the Veterans of the VA Black Hills Health Care System for 16 years as a Staff Dentist and the Chief of Dental Services. Dr. Curry completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System and earned the distinction of Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). FAGD represents a high level of dedication, requiring 500 hours of continuing education and the completion of a comprehensive examination. The distinction is held by approximately 6% of general dentists in the United States and Canada. She continues to be an avid learner and is a member of the American Dental Association, South Dakota Dental Association, Black Hills District Dental Society, and Seattle Study Club.

When Dr. Curry is not doing dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband Cody live on a hobby farm in Meade County. They have three daughters that keep them busy with basketball, horseback riding, biking, hiking, camping, and just exploring the Black Hills.

Dr. Curry is looking forward to providing comprehensive general dentistry alongside Dr. Hopper and serving the patients of Deadwood Dental.
